Guitarist in the McCoys was Rick Derringer, who later was part of Johnny Winters first band for his first two albums, also played with Edgar Winter and solo.

I saw both of the Winters brothers, at different concerts, and Rick was playing with Johnny at the time. EW was in his Frankenstein glory days..... and Rick wasn't with him at that point.

Rick wrote one of Johnny's biggest hits..... Rock & Roll Hoochie coo.... man I used to love playing that song in bands.

The first major concert I ever saw was Johnny Winter, Maple Leaf gardens in Toronto, 1974. I'll never forget it! Saw him a few times after that too.

Yeah, Rock and Roll Hoochie Coo, I played that song too in bands back in the day.

Good times! Thanks for bringing back the memories smile
