BIAB works fine with Windows 10 but with my Sonar 8.5 Producer those tracks transferred give me garbled sound. I have a very high spec newer comp. I'm using a Focusrite interface - perhaps the problem lies there? I understand you have a much later SONAR version. Does the sound work OK with BIAB tracks in your SONAR version or did you require an update? I am currently converting back to Windows 7 Pro which works well on my older computer because I'm concerned my other many applications software for Sonar 8.5 will also have problems with Win 10. The internet Sonar site have listed a new update for Win 10 but it didn't work on my new comp - still getting garbled sound.

I know you asked Matt (I'm sure he'll still see this) ..
You may want to check the bit rate in Sonar and the focusrite, it's possible that it doesn't match the transferred files.
Another question; did your Win10 install include MediaPlayer (or similar)? If not, you may be missing some codecs.

Bob's advice sounds right to me.
When you mention "garbled sound" and Focusrite together, I immediately suspect the ASIO buffer size. Unless your Focusrite is one of the 2xx models, the adjustment is in the Scarlett MixControl software under the Settings button.
Additionally, when I first upgraded to Windows 10 a year and a half ago, I experimented with Focusrite's beta drivers. I got garbled sound and had to roll back to the standard driver.
Note that my experience is with three older Focusrite units, a 6i6, 8i8 and 18i20. If you have a new 2nd generation unit, my advice does not apply - I haven't used one.
About SONAR, I went from version 3 all the way up, through 8.5e, then X1-3, and now Platinum. I never encountered a sound issue that was related to Windows. Any challenges were related to drivers, not Windows.
SONAR 8.5, with the final "e" update, was a stable product, well tested. However, I don't know about using it in Windows 10. There have been a few recent posts about this version and Windows 7, which is no longer supported, on the Cakewalk SONAR forum. I saw that update you mentioned. Absent other info, I suspect your answer will be found through SONAR support. Since that is slow at the moment, you might try the forum. Or even Focusrite email support, which I have always found to be fast and accurate.

THanks Rharv and Matt for your advice. I have just downloaded an
update from Focustrite site tried it on 2nd new comp in my business (BIAB and Focusrite) and it works OK. Looks like that was the problem.

Just on a follow-on note to others that maybe reading this thread - Once you have Focusrite update loaded and you are wanting to play it through this audio device (I have a 2i4) it is not enough, on my system at least, to just go to BIAB Options -> Midi/Audio set up and set the Focusrite input and output options. BIAB 2016 now gives a message that the audio device is set to 48K while BIAB is set at 44K (even with BIAB audiophile!!). When I just set it this way I was not getting any output from the Focusrite unit amp or headphones only my internal comp speakers.
I finally worked out you also have to go to: BIAB Preferences -> Audio -> Audio Drivers -> and the set the Focusrite input and output options. Note you will still get the same BIAB message as before. But you will now get BIAB audio to go to the Focusrite unit amp or headphones output. It was 4.10am when I got this working. Do you guys/gals also get these sorts of ideas in the middle of the damn night?
