Here is my week 38 Release: Morning Song. My wife hears a bit of Lightfoot in this tune but I was thinking Guy Clark and Rodney Crowell. We both may be right:

https://52tracksblog.com/2016/09/22/track-38-morning-song/

All RTs: Bass Guitar, Fingerpicked Acoustic Guitar, Nylon String Guitar (Brent Mason), Accordion, Pedal Steel, and Drums.

Thanks for listening.

Fred

Fred,
Nice relaxing tune.
I hope you're not suggesting that my fantasy retirement may have an intrusion of reality?

Thanks, Peter. Perhaps your fantasy retirement will turn out differently....I am as busy as when I had my day job.

"In my younger days
I worked the night
The world made much more sense
In black and white"

Fred, this is my favorite of your songs that I have heard. The writing is excellent...strong throughout. Dripping with the Clark and Crowell influence that you mention (though not sounding derivative).

One of your best vocals. Strong and confident.

One of your best productions. You can't go wrong with Brent's nylon fill track. Pairing that with the accordion or the steel - perfect...it's a "go-to combo"... (the mix is excellent)

Top notch offering.

This is a really great tune. Nice narrative and very gentle feel. But even if I didn't think it was a great tune I would love your 52 Tracks project -- that's such a good idea! I'm a huge fan of productivity projects like this smile (Also the guitar you're holding in the picture on the main 52tracksblog.com page is gorgeous -- what is it, if you don't mind me asking?)

Very nice. For some reason, this kind of reminds me of Kris Kristofferson.

Enjoyed it!

Sounds great, makes me think of George Strait and being back in South Texas.

Thanks, Will. That Is a James Trussart "holey" Tele. He started building electric guitars in France but moved to the US a few years ago. Beautiful work and fun to play.
