Eaglewing, an Eagles Tribute Band used my 1959 Gibson to finish their concert Saturday 9/24/16 at the Golden Leaf Festival in Mullins, SC. Mark Reynolds, the guitarist playing it always nails the opening but admitted to being more than a little nervous this time.

1959 Gibson Doubleneck used for Hotel California by Eaglewing

Enjoy,

Cool to see your guitar in use, Charlie!

I would think that would be a bit nerve-wracking - to let someone borrow it like that....

Yea, it was a fun concert. I think the guys were more nervous than I was.

It's pretty impressive. It is heavy but not as much as you think because it is hollowed out .

Charlie,

my 1998 cherry-red Epiphone double neck is extremely jealous!
Altho a local professional guitarist borrowed it for that very song a year or two later.
Mine is very heavy as it is not hollowed out but a "bunjee chord like" strap makes it bearable for a while laugh

Me playing it with the CONMEN!!!

nice story with video, Charlie.

Nice guitar Alyn. No cause for jealousy. My mother was somewhat petite and mostly played setting in a chair. I still have her guitar strap that somehow remained in the case all these years.

I wasn't aware the story was going to be shared and I don't think it was intended initially. In the video, the guitarist, Mark starts with an apology and explanation the guitar does not belong to him.

Those statements resulted from bringing out the guitar and he had to spend probably 5 minutes tuning it. He was a bit embarrassed I think. I think the 'history' of the guitar was significant to him and once he started talking, he couldn't quit.

I like the photo of the Conmen - You guys had a nice setup.

Beautiful guitar! I'd be too nervous to even play it myself, let alone give it to a stranger to take up on stage... Major props to you for understanding that guitars are meant to be played, not polished and displayed!
