Hola, soy nuevo en el foro, me gustaría saber que puedo hacer con “Band in a Box” en mi labor como músico, ya sea un aficionado o un profesional. He escuchado que ahora el programa tiene un sonido muy convincente gracias a los Real Tracks y la facilidad de usar instrumentos virtuales o plugins VSTi o DirX. Gracias y saludos.

Hola Daocho, bienvenido al foro, esta es tu casa. La pregunta es muy interesante ya que precisamente Band in a Box es un programa que ha despertado desde siempre un enorme interés en todos los niveles , desde el ocasional aficionado o "hobbista" hasta el más avezado músico profesional. Las razones son muchas pero esencialmente lo que ha llamado la atencíon de todos es su característica principal, la cual está presente en el programa desde la primera versión del programa lanzada ya casi hace 20 años. Se trata de la posibilidad de contar con un acompañamiento instrumental donde el usuario puede controlar todos los aspectos de ejecución y estructura de dicha pieza musical. Poder introducir los acordes tipeando en el teclado el nombre o "cifrado" de los mismos, seleccionar un estilo musical, un tempo y una tonalidad determinada ya de por si significa tener un magnífico control que esta al alcance de todos, independientemente del nivel musical que se posea. Por supuesto, tener mayores conocimientos en la materia redundará en mas grandes beneficios y mejor provecho a obtener del programa. Logicamente Band in a Box, gracias al extraordinario equipo de PG Music y la participación de los mismos usuarios, sus peticiones y sugerencias, con los años ha evolucionado a estratos increibles y ha incorporado multiples prestaciones y características que siempre consiguen despertar el interés del usuario según su area de interes. Band in a Box ha venido aumentando los estilos musicales disponibles desde 12 y 24 disponibles al principio hasta miles hoy día. Ahora cuenta con todo tipo de recursos, un "improvisador" o solista que se alimenta de una base de datos de centenares de intérpretes algunos de ellos parte de la historia de la música del mundo, con el solista el usuario puede lograr que sobre su creación o canción un "solista" determinado "cree" una improvisación como si el músico estuviese alli presente! quieres a Pat Metheny o Bill Evans haciendo un solo sobre un tema musical que acabas de programas? facil ...simplemente búscalos en la lista de Solistas y alli los encontrarás felices de tocar para tí y por un costo muy bajo  ! . Quieres transcribir una canción para cantarla tu mismo, el cantante de tu banda o tu novia, pero resulta que esta muy alta o baja de tono? no hay problema! Band in a Box cambia a tu gusto la tonalidad de tu pieza de manera inteligente, es decir, sin alterar el sonido de los instrumentos. Quieres cambiar el estilo de tu balada por una salsa o guaguanco caribeño? Listo! dispones de la gran mayoría de estilos latinos a tu alcance y miles de estilos mas!. Todo esto complementado por la capacidad de Band in a Box de servir de anfitrión (host) compatible con instrumentos virtuales y plugins de audio tipo Directx y VSTi, lo cual le confiere al programa un toque realmente profesional en cuanto a calidad de audio y el resultado final. Ese fué uno de los pasos cruciales para que el programa logrará despertar el interes creciente de la comunidad profesional asi como del productor en casa o aficionado. Ahora aún con eso ha llegado otra revolución que describiré de inmediato. Band in a Box ha perfeccionado igualmente su manera de funcionar y ahora con las Baterias y Pistas Reales ( Real Drums y Real Tracks) puedes sustituir completamente la reproducción de las pistas MIDI por ejecuciones reales de músicos de verdad que han grabado durante miles de horas para poner a tu alcance el realismo de una interpretación humana impresionante!. Band in a Box , y ahora su "socio" especializado en audio, Real Band, permiten realizar casi cualquier tarea musical y servirse de recursos que te serán de enorme ayuda, tanto si eres un músico por hobby como si eres un profesional, compositor, intérprete o arreglista. Para dar un ejemplo, ahora mismo un usuario en el foro de habla inglesa esta compartiendo con todos como utiliza Band in a Box en vivo para tomar temporalmente el lugar del baterista de su banda el cual al parecer se encuentra ausente por unos días. Cuando sus compañeros de banda escucharon al "baterista sustituto" que no era otra cosa que Band in a Box con Real Drums, quedaron tan impresionados que bromearon acerca de que su baterista tendría que apañarselas muy bien para que Band in a Box no se quedara con su empleo de batero en la banda . Igualmente Band in a Box es una herramienta valiosisima para la enseñanza musical, en mi caso particular ha sido un compañero inseparable, para mi y mis alumnos, en mis clases y talleres por todo el mundo. He logrado por ejemplo utilizar Band in a Box y Real Band para transcribir a partitura lo que toco en la guitarra inmediatamente a notas y tablatura, usando una guitarra MIDI, mientras el sonido mismo de la guitarra queda grabado en el programa. Algo muy util para crear ejerciciós y "licks" que puedan usar mis alumnos al instante. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8VxCPlfV1lAMuchísimos usuarios de Band in a Box lo utilizan a lo largo y ancho del planeta para componer, como una herramienta de estudio y práctica increible, como asistente en la elaboración de demos y aún trabajos finales para producciones personales, el programa tiene incluso secciones especiales dedicadas al entrenamiento del oido musical en sus tres aspectos, rítmico, melódico y armónico, y yo le agregaría uno mas, el desarrollo de la apreciación musical gracias al enorme repertorio de estilos disponibles que abren el oido a muchos a nuevas experiencias musicales. En fin, no podríamos parar de describir las virtudes de este magnífico programa llamado Band in a Box, creación y sueño hecho realidad de la mano del genial Peter Ganon y todo su equipo en PG Music, al me honra pertenecer. Gracias Carlos por tu respuesta tan clara y amplia, utilicé BIAB hace algún tiempo y estoy realmente sorprendido de los avances y cambios que han ocurrido, creo el equipo de PG MUSIC ha venido haciendo un enorme trabajo, lo de las Real tracks me parece fantástico!! Saludos, creo que los usuarios del foro van a ser enriquecidos con toda tu experiencia!!

Gracias David, es cierto, yo mismo he sido uno de los mas gratamente sorprendidos por la cantidad de recursos que han venido enriqueciendo a Band in a Box y es mi labor tratar de difundir esas posibilidades ya que todavía muchas personas no las conocen y hasta quizá tengan una idea un poco desactualizada del programa. David esperamos que nos visites con frecuencia, conozco tu trayectoria en el mundo del audio y la música y se que aportarías muchísmo! no te pierdas

Hola Manuel, bienvenido al foro, según la modalidad o tipo de paquete que hayas adquirido de Band in a Box se incluirán determinados RealTracks (Pistas Reales) y RealDrums (Baterias Reales) . Todas las modalidades, desde la inicial mas sencilla hasta la versión proporcionada en disco duro externo incluyen la misma versión de Band in a Box, la diferencia está en la cantidad o múmero de "add ons" o adicionales.
