Hi John,
There is a dedicated command on the Melody menu, that mutes the melody in the middle choruses.

Failing that, you can use the F5 key, and mute any of the generated tracks at any bar, and restore them at any bar, so you can get a track muted for a specific chorus.
(for example, set it to mute at Chorus 3, bar 1, and then go back to normal at Chorus 5, bar 1).
Note that this is for generated tracks only (MIDI or RealTracks), and isn't for the recorded MIDI melody track. For that, there are dedciated commands to mute the melody in middle choruses or erase it on the Melody menu etc.
