Eddie, my favorite axe of yours right now is the Nord Electro 4 - I'm VERY jealous of that my friend. However, I do get to play on our church's Hammond M3, with it's internal speaker bypassed and into a GSi Burn Leslie simulator. The only thing it doesn't have that would be cool is some presets. In between songs I have to quickly change registrations if there's a big difference. I played the first generation Electro and haven't been able to get it out of my head since!
Agreed. Gits should be played. My most valuable guitar is a Taylor 414ce that I won in a drawing last summer. Very similar to my 2000 Larrivée in shape and sound. It sat around here for a bit, but now is on loan to my pastor.

About 2 years ago Sweetwater was blowing these out for under $300 each. Stock they come with 9 pup combinations. I added a switch into the cover of the electronics cavity that turns on the tail pup that provides 4 more combinations. Cost to do that was under 5$. I would do the same to any 5-position switch guitar I ever obtain in the future without hesitation. Instantly gives a tele middle position sound of any standard strat.

The above post mentions a heavy guitar, maybe its just me or I am getting older, but if I pick up a guitar especially a solid body and it feels too heavy I want to forget about it straight away.

Back in '78 during my live band days a band member had a Kramer to play with for a while. Although only single neck THAT was another heavy muther. Played well, felt beefy and durable but also a bit unbalanced when compared to other axes.
When I picked up my Ibanez Tele Silver Series, I agonized (just a bit) over whether buying an Ibanez tele vs. Fender would be a hasty purchase I might regret. (I think it was during the Fender lawsuit days but don't quote me on that) But...the price was right, Fender was above my budget and I did need an electric as it was during my live band decade.
As it turned out, I'm quite happy with it. I do wonder if it has maintained any real value today almost (4) decades later.
