Hi, purchased the 2016 pro version mid September with the idea of making my own backing tracks for acoustic/vocal gigs. After all this time just had a chance to get things happening. Have a few questions which will sound pretty basic but I'm sure the answers are simple. How do I extend the ending bars of a song??? I want to repeat for instance the last 4 bars of the last line of a song a few times but it defaults to 4 bars and cant see where to extend that number. Thanks....more to come.

If you refer to the 4-bar ending in the Song Settings, then I believe you cannot specify anything besides 2 or 4 bars.
We could talk about workarounds, such as making your own ending or using a DAW (including the free bundled RealBand).

Thanks Matt, one wonders how hard it would be to make that a variable. Cheers

Maybe I'm over simplifying this Wish.....but can you not just select last bar and from Edit menu >Insert bars (4 or 8) for your ending repeat lines?

This doesn't address your specific question, but might address others you will come across. It's an explanation of how I make backing tracks with Band-in-a-Box and how I use them on stage with my duo. http://www.nortonmusic.com/backing_tracks.htmlNotes

The first thing I do when working on a new song in BB is to UNFOLD the song so it doesn't have repeats. I want it to start at the top... bar 1 and proceed down the screen to the bottom where the song ends. As far as endings.... if the standard 2 or 4 bar ending doesn't get the job done.... just create your own ending. You need to learn how to add bars, delete bars, as well as how to copy and paste bars. It's really very simple to do those editing functions. Once you have that down, you can generally do a custom ending in a matter of just a few minutes time. For a "tagged" ending, you need a sufficient number of extra unused bars near the end.... you copy the 4 bars you want repeated and paste them into the places where you want the tags... and then you can edit the final few to complete the ending. This song One More Round is a good example of a song where I created my own ending and did not use the 2/4 bar canned ending. As always, if you have questions, it's best to see if you can find the answer in the tutorial videos PG has on the website, look it up in the manual, or when all else fails, post it in the proper forum site being as specific as is possible while providing as much info as possible as to what you have done to try to solve it. we will help, to the best of our ability to get you going in the right direction.
You can find my music at: www.herbhartley.comAdd nothing that adds nothing to the music. You can make excuses or you can make progress but not both. The magic you are looking for is in the work you are avoiding.

If you are talking about a BIAB generated ending, well, you only get one ending and it will be two bars. BIAB does not have the ability to repeat it multiple times. The four bars reference you see is just two additional bars to allow the instruments to fade out (so they don't cut off prematurely), but the generated ending is still technically only two bars.
If you are creating your own endings, then just uncheck the checkbox for BIAB to create an ending and extend the length of the song accordingly for how you want the ending to happen. If you end with a hold, you'll have to account for enough bars yourself for the instruments to fade.
If you want to duplicate a BIAB created ending multiple times, you'll have to move your project to a DAW and do it there.
