I would love to have a way to export a plain text file that contains the chords and lyrics for my songs. Nothing fancy, just something like this would be great,
Sometimes I like to just pass out a lyric sheet with chords to other players and this would be so nice to be able to do this in BIAB! Since I already entered chords and lyrics it seems like a good idea to let me export it like this.
BIAB & RB2026 Win.(Audiophile), Windows 10 Pro & Windows 11, Cakewalk Bandlab, Izotope Prod.Bundle, Roland RD-1000, Synthogy Ivory, Session Keys Grand S & Electric R, Kontakt, Focusrite 18i20, KetronSD2, NS40M, Pioneer Active Monitors.
I rarely use this form of song, but there appears to be a few standard conventions out there on sites that provide or sell sheets like this. I am only an expert on the original Bossa Nova songs, but I'm sure many of you must know all kinds of sources for current or famous songs. Is there a convention for file type? Format?
For example, I've seen a chart that has labels like 'Verse' and 'Chorus', and phrases like 'Repeat Chorus' (instead of actually typing the lyrics and chords again) that make the chart shorter and more easy to read. Simple things like that.
BIAB 2026 Win Audiophile. Software: Fender Studio One 8, Swam horns, Acoustica-7, Notion 6, Song Master Pro, Win 11 Home. Hardware: Intel i9, 32 Gb; Fender Quantom HD8 & Faderport 8, Royer 121, Adam Sub8 & Neumann 120 monitors.
So if the lyrics are bar based I don't know how you could get bb to save chord/lyrics to txt like your Twinkle Twinkle example.
If I go to Edit - Lyrics - Copy to clipboard I get:
I Remember Clifford Chorus with Lyric by Benny Golson Jazz Ballad/Vocal Tempo = 80

If you record a midi lyrics sync track in your song using the same note on your QWERTY or midi keyboard and save it as a midi file, you can sync them automatically with a karaoke lyrics editor like https://sites.google.com/site/karakankaraoke/
Then in KaraKan New > Select your midi sync file that you recorded in BB
Select Track (Lyric Sync Track)
Paste your hyphenated lyrics in below
warmth of his sound lin-gers so long I'm sure he's still a-round. For those who heard, they re-peat him yet. So those who hear won't for-get. The sound of his phrase ech-oes a time un-count-a-ble by days. The things he.......
Then Karaoke menu > Create karaoke file or Export midi file with lyrics you can just rename kar to mid
Then BB File - Import > Import melody/soloist from midi file.
Now you will have proper lyrics.
In KaraKan you can File - Open example
Would an Auto Lyric Sync as above in BB save a lot of time or would you rather manually enter a word/syllable for each and every note ?
Thanks for all of this Pipeline! I truly appreciate all of your help here!
I think though, for my purposes, just a simple text like my example is what I'd like to see. If I have to import/export/edit/fix/etc. I might as well just type and copy/paste it myself. I'm looking for something really easy to get lyric/chord sheets.
To get the chord change in the correct place above the lyric like Twinkle I think it needs accurate lyric placement. I haven't played with the bar based lyrics, but I don't think they are accurate for chord/lyric sheets. I just remembered last time I went to put lyrics in it was so slow one event at a time it put me off someone else might know a better way ???
