Hey great ! good video, if you can record the main out from the mixer with something like a little Zoom recorder (plugged in the headphone socket) you can mix it with the video after to get great sound.

Really enjoyed that, John! Thanks for posting it.
I always liked this song by the Mamas and the Papas, but after I heard it, I think the America version became my new favorite version.
Your take on it has a really good vibe. I would really enjoy hearing that in a club or a bar.

Thanks everyone for the kind words! We use backing tracks for bass, drums and keyboards, but we don't buy commercial backing tracks; I make them all in my studio from scratch. I control playback from an iPod on my mic stand. We play covers but they are all arranged by us in new ways, e.g. we do Human League's 'Don't You Want Me Baby' in a jazz/swing style and The Kinks' 'Waterloo Sunset' as a reggae. Audiences like the surprises! I confess we didn't think of this one in bossa nova style; we pinched it from Diana Krall. Keeping those signature 'response' harmonies right to the end lends an interesting bit of tension I think. Richard, our other guitarist, has a nephew who works for a professional video company in London and he kindly agreed to come up to this gig in Rugby with his girlfriend and take the footage with his pro cameras. (They'd been on a shoot with Tom Jones the week before!)
The sound in fact is what was recorded with the camera mics with no sweetening added. I edited the video together using the footage from both cameras which he kindly pre-sync'd for me, so I was able to easily cut between the two.

Yes they are the mini-humbuckers. They sound so good I put them on two of my Strats. What I also like about them is you can adjust the pole heights - I think Strats are a bit quiet on the top two strings, and as I lead player I don't like that slight drop off.
