@Noel: same here, I feel your pain. Lower resolution seems the only way out. Not something to cry about, but nevertheless, unexpected and annoying.
I also tried alt-tabbing, adjusting the taskbar, opening the taskmanager to see if the vst window could be opened from there... I felt rather stupid when I noticed other users did not have the same problem. But it just turns out there's a hardware/software related glitch.
