sometimes BIAB and RB appear to crash because a modal dialog box has ended up behind another screen, and you can't see that it's waiting for input. So I guess its worth asking if the program just seems "locked up?" (in which case, you'd use ALT-TAB to scroll through all the open dialogs). This happened to the activation dialog for some people during beta testing... (have you been able to enter the activation code yet?)
But if the program is throwing error messages, then that's not what's happening.
It also might be worth asking if you had installed all of the 2016 updates before installing the new version. That would be build 438 for BIAB and patch 10 for RB
