You Don't Understand Me is a new song by Pumping Station Road. Bob is doing the Mr. Slowhand impersonation, Steve is singing lead, Danny has the last guitar solo and I’m on everything else.

Let us know what you think.

Hi Mario,

I always look forward to hearing your work. It never disappoints To my ears, this one is up there with the rest of them. I really like the relaxed, easy-going vibe of the song. It's well put together in every way. There are high levels of musicanship evident in this performance. I found it hard to understand some of the words but I'm not quite sure why. Early in the song, I thought it might be a combination of the vocal doubling/harmony and reverb that was making it difficult to understand the lyrics completely. That's just an impression, though. As the song progressed, and the vocals got stronger, I found it easier to hear the words. I pass this observation along simply for what it's worth. Overall, and as always, I thoroughly enjoyed listening to your work.

I'm ready for the next one, now
Noel

Great track Mario.........I agree with Noel on the issue with the vocals. I think its a combination of doubling, reverb and harmony or all the above. Sorta hard to define. The vox also sit back in the track as though the vocalist is a tad shy...

Gotta have something to pick on right?..........:)

Mario,

Other than what's been said above I just wanted to add that I also enjoyed this project.

PS: Listening to some old stuff the other day and our Teach Me Tonight collaboration with you got played, just wanted you to know that I enjoy your soloing on that tune even more each time I hear it.

Later,

Thanx all for listening and the kind words of encouragement and wisdom.

We are not quite satisfied with the vocals either. I posted this without pointing this out to see what the response would be. If anyone has some specific ideas they would be welcomed as we may record the vocals again.

Danny, that is one of my favorite collaborations also. Anytime you need another guitar part from me just yell.

Mario,

Someone once told me "Get a singer to sing it" on one of my old posts here, LOL

The only thing that popped up immediately on the vox: Timing. He is early on some notes and needs to hold some notes longer in parts. His timing gets better as the song plays. That inner clock thing.

He has a great voice and sounds good, but have him sing it a few times before punching that red button.

I like it, excellent mix and backing on this. I also like the 1 up harmony here and there, it "builds" the vocals very nicely.

@Mario - I like it. Lush, smooth and rich but the vocals definitely could do with something with more edge. They sound almost over-produced to me.

@Marc - that Roxette number seems a bit long and repetitive.
