Before replying I did a little research and found some sources of his influences from his site's bio. ( http://www.chasebryant.com/bio/ )

My humble conclusion... he considers himself a mainstream modern country artist while trying to get a cross-over pop hit with "Room to Breathe".

BTW my searches did produce a country artist thats a lit more to my taste... a real beer joint country artist! Give him a listen. ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=foVnLIWSir0 )

Note the sign that outlines the sections of the song. Kind of cute.
