When I teach guitar one of the books that I use is the Incredible Scale Finder: https://www.amazon.com/Incredible-Scale-Finder-Leonard-Supplement/dp/0634014900/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1480954314&sr=1-1&keywords=incredible+scale+finderThis book shows over 1300 scales as they are played on the fret board, i.e. no note notation. Each scale is shown in 7 different patterns. Although not software I think this inexpensive book, $6.99 USD, is exactly what you are looking for. I hope this helps and good luck.
