If they have those videos monetized at even a 1/4 of a cent per view (and it's probably more than that) that's 7.75 million cents. Which is... a lot...


I figured someone would say that. And just shy of $80k is nothing to sneeze at by any means...but...it's still not airplay on a station (which was the point that was being made) or people willing to pay for it for that matter. There is a HUGE difference in that.

Sure you can argue that people are paying with their time of sitting at the computer, but there is surely a difference between that and handing over your cash to enjoy something.

You're very right! I guess the key these days is diverse revenue streams. $80K every year or so from popular YouTube vids, quadruple that every quarter with t-shirt sales, tours on top of everything, plus $14.31 per year with record sales laugh
