Forte's last and CURRENT version is still 1.6

Not counting external hardware GM solutions, Forte DXi is only "needed" (or wanted) if you don't have another GM compliant (key word there - COMPLIANT) plug-in and want to use BIAB mainly for/with MIDI sounds.

BIAB assumes the 128 GM sound set when using MIDI sounds, when NOT using Realtracks/RealDrums, and not including/counting the free and good, but limited in number & type, HI-Q sounds.

I can count on one hand, with a few fingers missing, the number of GM compliant plug-in's.

- Coyote Forte DXi

- TTS-1 (ONLY comes with Cakewalk products like Music Creator [$49] or higher end Sonar products)

- OmniSynth II - if you have ANY version of SampleTank 2 (free or paid for) but not Sampletank 3. You just missed $5 sale on that on (back to $29 right now) but wait I suspect another sale soon or at first of year - it goes on sale every few months. While OmniSynth 2 will work as a sound bank in SampleTank 3 it DOES NOT FUNCTION AS A GM compliant bank in ST3; hence, BIAB will not "automagically" assign instruments from OmniSynth 2 to SampleTank 3 properly (you can do this MANUALLY however).

Others? (remember criteria here is a GM COMPLIANT, "automagically," plug-in)?
