mac/sam.
cheers n god bless.
let me comment on 1 bpm differences.
mebe i'm being silly but for me personally sometimes
even at higher bpm's some things just have a "feel".
its difficult to explain.
for example a few weeks back i was doing something
at if i remember 125 bpm.
tried 124 and 126 , but just didnt feel right for some reason.
i "know" it sounds weird.
mebe us english blokes are just daft that way.
in our genes ..lol.
next year i'm visiting my mum in the uk.
(amazeing woman..was a mezzo. as of 2 years ago still could hit the high
notes at 88 !! blew everyone away on her b'day.)
so i'll ask her bout my genes.
my dad was a jazzer. incredible jazz drummer.
he used to say....
"blinkin youngsters today dont know how to use brushes"..lol.
years back he would yell at drummers i knew at the time.
bout treating drumming with lots more subtlety.
rather than whacking n splashing out all over the place.
he was of the opinion that a good drummer should know when to lay back
and then to know when to come forward in the spaces etc etc.
its all good mates.
