Hi Matt, I finally got around to this and got it to work. I did it by using the melody track that was blank and then simply pulling the volume down on the real track bass part (BIAB remembers that). To write the part in only the bass clef I used the instructions below which someone helped me from another post.

Go to "Editable Notation Mode". You see vertical dash lines splitting the quarter notes into 16ths or triplets.
Click the "Opt." button on the far left side in the lowest tool bar area.
In the middle column of the "Notation Window Options" you see "Clefs split at".
Change the "Clefs split at" value from the default C4 to a value of C5.
You still have to click the notes on the bass staff area but the result shows the notes properly for lead sheets.
