OK....

I know I may sound a bit cryptic here but I really don't mean to.

If anyone here has their songs on soundclick.com have you noticed any odd behavior regarding the amount of song plays they're getting?

Thanks...and sorry I've not provided more detail on this post at this time.

Carry on....

Hi Wayne, can't say that I can confirm any odd happenings regarding the number of songplays I am getting. They are trending just fine in accordance with my promoting songs on Facebook, etc.

What do you see?

Cheers,
Mike

Hey Mike….
Thanks for responding to my cryptic query.

Well….here goes.
I’ve had my songs on soundclick since November 2008 and currently I have (15) on site.
I’ve never really promoted my material but do get a slight bit of activity when I ask for any comments on a mix on occasion.
I have got as many as 20 plays or so during any random month.
Usually, it’s just 5-10 a month at best and I had (3) months this year that had NO plays at all.

I’m aware the amount of listens on any music site means little in the BIG song writing picture but it’s a mild ego massage that some were obliging enough to stop by and give a listen….and I’m thankful.

On 12/11, like everyone else, I go to check if anyone did give a listen.
I about fainted….152 plays with an almost equal amount of listeners for each song.
I think “ok…that’s cool, just a wild random fluke and maybe next decade I’ll get lucky again”

Last night, after getting home from my wife’s company Christmas party, I decide to check in with my normal music site routine.
I go to soundclick and check my page….706 plays!
Again… with an almost equal amount of listeners ranging from 45-49 plays for each song….”come on (I ask myself), this song play graph has to be wrong!”
I pick myself up off the floor, shake my head a bit and begin to question the accuracy and think the site has been tampered with.
Oh…and no ‘comments’ on any of them which seems strange given that many plays.

Hence…this post.
I swear to Odin and the Sun God Ra….I’m not fishing here….but, the numbers just didn’t add up to me and I still question it in my third eye mind.

I only go to two music sites and this one being the most active for me for the last several months.
Lastly, if any here were part of that group….a sincere thanks.

That’s my story….sorry about the novel.
A good weekend to all.

I'd been considering joining Soundclick...and then I read the reviews online. I always Google a site before I jump in. I know negative reviews are more likely to be posted than positive ones, but what I saw made me rethink joining. Just wondered what folks here on PGM think of Soundclick. Opinions? Problems?

Thanks,
Bob

I've been on soundclick since 2002. It was my main music site for years until soundcloud came along, I joined soundcloud around five years ago. I still have a profile on soundclick but don't maintain it anymore.

Personally I've had much better luck on soundcloud than soundclick, but it takes some work to build up a following on any site I guess.

But, you have nothing to lose! You can setup a basic account there for free, try it and see if it works for you.

I have had a demo. on Soundclick for at least 6 years. I send people there to hear my band. I am not aware that there is a a "play" count. I just checked into my account and still cannot find a list of plays anywhere.

Upper right, click on Account, choose you artist name and you will see counts for all songs.

Hope, this helps.

Been on SC forever as well ... I do upload my new music there, advertise it and I get a decent amount of plays, typically. Looks like this:

I belong to SoundClick and SoundCloud. I prefer SoundCloud over SoundClick.

SoundClick use to be my site of choice to post songs but I rarely visit SoundClick now. I like how the site lets listeners rate songs and maintains play charts so it is easy to find new songs that you will enjoy listening to. What I didn't appreciate was SoundClick "lost" all the songs I posted from about 2001 to 2012.

I also tend to like the soundcloud interface and it's site navigation a bit more.
I only have (4) BIAB songs there which was after PGMusic started the radio station thing.
I have not gone through uploading of my (12) other songs there quite yet.

202 New RealTracks Released with Band-in-a-Box 2026!

With Band-in-a-Box® 2026, we've released 202 incredible new RealTracks (in sets 468-488) in a variety of genres—featuring your most requested styles!

Jazz, Funk & World (Sets 468-475):
Our new jazz, funk & blues RealTracks include a groovin’ collection of RealTracks and RealDrums! These include more requested “soul jazz” RealTracks featuring artists Neil Swainson (bass), Charles Treadway (organ), Brent Mason (guitar), and Wes Little (drums). There are new “smooth jazz” styles (4), which include a RealTracks first: muted trumpet, as well as slick new smooth jazz brushes options for drums. Blues lovers will be thrilled—there are more “classic acoustic blues” styles, including guitar (5), bass (4), and drums (10) with blues master Colin Linden, featuring understated and tasty background acoustic soloing, plus brushes drums and acoustic bass. There are also new electric blues RealTracks, including electric blues with PG favorite Johnny Hiland (3) and soulful electric slide guitar from Colin Linden (4). If you love funk & gospel, there are great new options this year, including gospel organ (3) from Charles Treadway, as well as new funk, tango, and rock ’n’ roll drums (3) and bass (1). And for big, bold arrangements, we have uptempo soul horns (4) featuring a three-part hip horn section with options for a full mix or stems of each individual horn — plus an accompanying rhythm section (4) of drums, bass, guitar, and electric piano!

Rock & Pop (Sets 476–482):
Our new rock & pop RealTracks bring a powerful mix of requested favorites, fresh genres, and modern chart-inspired styles! We have more of our popular “Producer Layered Acoustic Guitars (15)” featuring Band-in-a-Box favorite Brent Mason. We’ve continued our much-requested disco styles (10), and added new Celtic guitar (5) with a more basic, accessible approach than our previous Drop-D or DADGAD offerings. There are also highly requested yacht rock styles (17), inspired by the smooth, polished soft-rock sound of the late ’70s and early ’80s — laid-back grooves, silky electric pianos, warm textures, elegant harmonic movement, and pristine production aesthetics. Fans of heavier styles will love our new glam metal (13), capturing the flashy, high-energy sound of ’80s arena-ready guitar rock. We also have a set of rootsy modern-folk rock (18), with a warm, organic sound combining contemporary folk textures and driving acoustic strumming. And we’ve added lots of new modern pop styles (16) — the kinds of sounds you’re hearing on the radio today, featuring exciting new drums, synths, and cutting-edge RealTracks arrangements.

Country, & Americana (Sets 483–488):
Our new country & Americana RealTracks deliver a rich collection of acoustic, electric, and roots-inspired styles! We have new country pop (9) with legendary guitarist Brent Mason. There is also a potpourri (14) of bouzouki, guitars, banjo, and more, perfect for adding texture and character to contemporary acoustic arrangements. We’ve added funky country guitar (5) with PG favorite Brent Mason, along with classic pedal steel styles (5) featuring steel great Doug Jernigan. There are more country songwriter styles (8) that provide intimate, rootsy foundations for storytelling and modern Americana writing. Finally, we have “background soloing” acoustic guitar (12) with Brent Mason — simpler, but still very tasty acoustic lines designed to sit beautifully behind vocals or act as a subtle standalone solo part.

Check out all the 202 new RealTracks (in sets 468-488)!

And, if you are looking for more, the 2026 49-PAK (for $49) includes an impressive collection of 20 bonus RealTracks, featuring exciting and inspiring additions to add to your RealTracks library. You'll get new country-rhythm guitar styles from PG Music favorites Johnny Hiland and Brent Mason, along with modern-pop grooves that capture today’s radio-ready sound! There are also new indie-folk styles with guitar, bass, 6-string bass used as a high-chording instrument, acoustic guitar, and banjo. Plus, dedicated "cymbal fills" RealDrums provide an added layer that work very well with low-key folky styles with other percussion.

The 2026 49-PAK is loaded with other great new add-ons as well. Learn more about the 2026 49-PAK!
