Suddenly after all these years I cannot use chord shortcuts i.e. Cj for Cmaj7 and other shortcuts and have to enter the long way
Any help please

I seem to remember when I copied my own customized shortcut.txt file it did not prompt me about overwriting an old one, so maybe they accidentally left it out.

Hi Brian. That's odd. I assume you are using BIAB 2017 - just upgraded?
For these chord shortcuts to work, there must be this file in your /BB folder: pgshortc.txt
That text file tells you how the built-in shortcuts work. Once you get this working, also look at this file: shortcut.txt
It allows you to add your own keyboard shortcuts, like this:
a@7alt
e@13#11
EDIT: I see Bob also mentioned the shortcut.txt file, but it's pgshortc.txt you need first.

Yes I installed 2017 over 2016 and therefore assumed that as it has worked for over 24 years
Why should it not work now
Not new shortcuts but use the existing shortcuts - checked pgshortc.txt and there but shortcuts.txt is not

Then that sounds like a bug you should report.
EDIT: I was just able to test this, and it works fine for me in Build 454.
Question: did you try Running BIAB As Administrator?

Yes it is a bug - I am using a UK/EU layout computer keyboard
Always ran as administrator - not trying to input new chords but just to use the standard chord shortcut entry

Problem solved
Initial install was by download - so I reinstalled from the BB hard disc
Must have been a corrupted file
