Dmitriy Goriuk has created an absolutely great tutorial for the Samplemodeling Viola that runs on the SWAM engine. In case you did not know, virtual string instruments are notoriously difficult to do well.

Because there is Up Bow, Down Bow, Bow placement, Rosin, Which section of the bow is used, finger Vibrato, Tremolo, Pizzicato etc. there are so many parameters, that it boggles the mind.

Hence, strings are best played with a keyboard, pedals, left hand for activating various parameter control keys, and a breath controller.

Far from perfect, the strings can also be played with a windcontroller (a pedal makes it more versatile), but still worthwhile.

When done right, the sound is amazingly good. But you need to judge for yourself.

Of course the Virtual Wind and Brass instruments are also excellent, and they make amazing music when paired with Band-in-a-Box
