Thanks Robert!

Yes, the part at the beginning and at the end is backwards.

As for Sitar--yes, kind of of. I have a guitar synth. Close enough for me.

Hope you freaked out man!

By the way, Echo and the Bunnymen made my year. I LOVE THOSE GUYS!!!!!

Happy Holidays.

The song, very Beatles - so far away while being so close -

Vocal sounded sooooo - Neil Young in places - Strange - but very fitting --- Very original work to pull from so many influences.

Enjoyed this -

Charlie

David,

I never know quite what to expect from you next, except that it's always worth a listen.

It WAS strange, but made a change, your vocals were well in range, but I don't feel short changed, just slightly deranged!

Influences? Let's just say that I turned off my mind, relaxed and floated downstream wink

What a way to end 2016 (unless you manage to squeeze in any more gems).

Cheers,
Jez

David,

Thoughts that sprang to mind as I listened were: very lush sound, psychedelic, creative, fearlessly original, definitely 100% David Snyder.

I'm pretty sure they could write a television series about your musical escapades! I don't know anyone who travels across the plains of musical diversity like you do.

All the best of Christmas to you,
Noel

What he said!

Damn man, how do you approach these arrangements? Is it all in the head spontaneously? More incremental?

Amazing. BTW, maybe it was floyd's mention of Buffalo Springfield but I heard a spot of Stills in there....somewhere.

Hey, thanks!!

Here was the workflow for the first hour or so.

1.) I read Herb's column about the "rotting songs" that never made it out of the studio and burst out laughing and said "Gotta write that song." Lyrics came in two stages, with a heavy edit, in about 10 minutes. I posted my scribbled notes written on a scrap of paper as a joke in the songwriting app discussion on songwriting forum.

2.) I knew I wanted to get a Beatles/Mitch Easter sound reminiscent of "Rain" so I picked the simplest backing tracks possible and used mostly open chords, or near chords, in the Key of G/D because that is what they did in Rain. A lot of open notes and very few "closed" chords.

3.) I wanted the bridge to be all out Beatles so I created a C section in BIAB with mostly strings but kept 2 guitars--one was a user track I made especially for that song with a repetitive G6 riff. I changed the key from G to A though but put in a bunch of accidentals.

I am at about 1 hour 15 minutes now.

4. Load the thing up in Real Band and do the vocals.

5. Export all files to Sonar, add in a couple of synths, and add a lot of effects to the vocals, drums, bass etc.

That was about it. I think maybe 2 and 1/2 hours with another 45 minutes to mix it.

Glad you liked it. Just goofing around.

Hello, David

I entirely agree with floyd.
You’re so straaaaaaange.
But I don’t mind. In fact... I rather like it...
Your Beatleishness seems mixed with a little Byrds and a little Buffalo Springfiled - you're covering an awful lot of classifications...
I think your continuous ambitious works are worthy of respect.
Very enjoyable listen.

Best Regards.
