I have made this suggestion before: I'd love to save songs as videos, using the notation view rather than the chord chart, This would be really useful for live performances.
I suspect the hurdle might be copyright considerations, since chord progressions are considered fair game but melody notes not.

True, but PG can't be sure that's the only way users are making music with their software, nor can they prevent or control if we decide to do covers or what have you. In other words, it's probably being estimated as an "unsafe" feature to implement in terms of their potential accountability over our potential (mis)use...or something, I'm really just guessing here. It certainly isn't anything technical that's preventing them from doing this, that much is obvious.

This has been requested a long time back for notation and big lyrics window. At the moment to create the video BB takes a snapshot every bar in C:\bb\Data\avim\AVIMImages then saves them as video with the audio. So it will have to take a snapshot every note.
Until such time you can use http://srecorder.com/ you just need to set your system default audio recording device by right clicking on your speaker icon and record in real time. Unlike WinBB it saves to a small mp4 rather than a large avi
On the Mac you can use Quicktime player File > New Screen Recording in the drop down select Soundflower 2ch and in System Prefs - Sound, set Output to Soundflower 2ch https://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/14067/soundflower# or search the many free ones.
