Hi everyone,

I'm new to BiaB. I have managed to load up a song, and record some vocals on the audio channel. But I can't seem to find a way to add a second audio channel to play some of my own guitar parts.

Any ideas?

Thanks a million.

Welcome to the forums D.S. Jake.

BIAB can only record one audio track. If you want to record more, go to Realband. Realband will open your BIAB file and generate all the backing (like BIAB). In addition, it will allow you to add multiple audio recordings.

If you want to find out how to drive Realband, there are some videos at the below link.

http://www.pgmusic.com/videos.realband.htm

One area where Realband is different from BIAB is that it generates all the tracks fully before starting to play. This means it takes 20 - 30 seconds longer for a song to start playing than it does in BIAB.

Regards,
Noel

Quote: "BIAB can only record one audio track."

Technically, BIAB can only record one 'quality' audio track. There are three exceptions. BIAB can record harmonies and you can punch in corrections and fills on the audio track.

The third method: When you open the record audio window, there is an option that can be checked to "Overdub underlying audio". When this option is selected, a second audio track is recorded and merged with the first audio track you recorded.

Audio can be recorded multiple times and each new recording is merged with the previously recorded tracks. The mix is done automatically and there are no controls or overrides that I am aware of.

I've used it quite a lot roughing out and sketching ideas in BIAB.

Yes Noel, it's not a recording nearly as good quality as you would get in RB but for me, it is a good way to not interrupt my workflow to hear how a harmony may sound or similar.
