Anyone know if real time monitoring of audio recording is possible? For example: play guitar though audio interface and hear it through Amplitube plug in.

Thanks.

yes, it's possible. If there's any latency in your system it will be evident with the amp sim.

Thanks. How? I get no sound back from BIAB when plugged in with just guitar signal. BIAB records the signal, but with no real time monitoring. I can only hear it on playback. What setting allows real time monitoring? My interface is low latency and works well with DAWs and amp sim. Trying to do same on BIAB.

I normally use Sonar for my live recording so to address your question, In BB, I don't do that.

In your first post you didn't really specify that you were trying this in BB. I know it is totally possible in Sonar because I have done it there.

Just for grins I turned on the studio and loaded a sim and tried to get live VST in BB.... I couldn't figure out how to get it to play through the system. It worked fine on playback.

That's the reason I use a DAW like Sonar.

I'm not 100% up to speed on all the things BB can and can not do, but this might be one of the things beyond it's capabilities.

Yes, you need to use ASIO and ASIO-Always-On (Set in prefs-audio- audio drivers)

Peter,

Thank you. I tried that, but there is no audio coming back from BIAB during recording. However, the audio I do hear the recorded track on playback.

Thanks.

Jim,

Did you try it using ASIO4ALL as your ASIO audio driver? This is freeware and works very well with BIAB.

Regards
Noel

Does your sound card/interface support ASIO? If not, you can try ASIO4ALL, or get an interface that does support ASIO. If I load ASIO for my laptop's built in sound card chip, it doesn't work at all.

Yes. M-Track Quad. The ASIO interface connects, and records, and plays back...just can't monitor through BIAB during recording.

have you tried the headphone jack on the M-Track?

That's where I monitor from..... both speakers and cans. I have a headphone amp because the Focusrite has very weak output on the headphone jack.
