Wow... I DID think traditional country music had died... not so... knocked it out of the park...and still has just a smidge of present-day in it... Wow...

I'd listened to him a few years ago and most songs had too much pop or cookie-cutter-country for me. I would have never given Mark another chance.

Thanks for posting that, Floyd.

I met Barbara Cloyd a here few years ago, manages the open mic nights at the Bluebird Café in N'ville. I played her a couple songs, she was very kind and had a couple suggestions. And somewhere in the conversation once she stopped throwing-up she held up her hand and counted on her fingers in rapid-fire the requirements for current country. Daisy-Duke shorts, pickups, beer, good ol' boy, and most interestingly, "What's in it for the woman?"

Everyone here may know all that, but I didn't. She said women drive album sales, often out-buying men, drive concert ticket sales by purchasing their own tickets, bringing their guys (2 tickets), or coming with girlfriends (XX tickets), and drawing other men to the concert because there will be women there (XXX tickets).

Sounded reasonable to me.
