I am fairly new to BB and RB and have read both product docs several times, but for BB I am confused on how I would use one or more VST plug-ins that implement a set of new instruments within BB. I have such a plug-in that implements a whole set of instruments that are unlikely to be implemented as RealTracks any time soon. It has world instruments of various kinds (tabla drums, and harmonium instead of piano) and sounds great outside BB. I have read all the docs and have sucessesfully added this plug-in into the list of VST plug-ins in the BB configuration.
Now what?
I have seen that RB shows me tracks and I can actually set the output of a track to use a specific DXi or VST. What is the counterpart of this in BB? Is there any? I am happy to do all the reading in the forums on this, and hope that there is some kind of tutorial or walkthrough for how one goes about creating a new "Band" where the players of the instruments require external VST plug-ins (one or more) to get the instruments you need.

BIAB can only use one VST at a time unlike RB where you can use a different one for each channel. What plug-in do you have? If it is a Soundfont, that works fine in BIAB. I use VSTSynthFont where I can load a soundfont for each channel.

It's from Swar System and called the Swar Plug-in. It has mostly Indian instruments. It sounds like what I need to do is use RB instead of BB to do this. I guess that's a viable solution, but I kinda looked at BB as the way to create the band - per se, and RB used for final production.

That's what most people do. If the plug-in has all of the instruments you need, you can do it in BIAB. If not, RB is probably the best option. If you need multiple plugins, BIAB can do it by first making an audio file using plugin A and then Play or Render merging the audio with plugin B.

William, Use the VSC/DXI for playback in Biab. Once you have your song finished save it as a midi file. Then do your final mix in RB with numerous VSTi's. Biab supports only a single midi playback device. WE have asked for more midi ports in the Biab Wishlist  Trax
