I've come across a couple of glitches which I am hoping to establish as valid for report, and would like to know if they are platform specific or not before I take this any further. Here is how they happen:
Case A: 1. Load an all-midi style, then load its designated Demo Song (all the midi only styles come with a demo song). 2. Assign any midi plugins to any tracks. 3. Then replace/add any track's instrument (e.g. strings) with a Custom Midi instrument of the same kind from any other midi style. 4. Now press Play (or Render) and watch in astonishments as all your plugin selections DISAPPEAR!
Case B: 1. Load any song which contains at least one midi instrument (preferably all-midi) and is NOT a Midi Supertrack Style song. 2. Change your Mixer volume of your tracks to a value lower than 90 3. Change any track to a Midi Superstyle instrument and hit Pay/Render 4. Watch you Mixer volume of the Midi Supertrack channel you chose, it will now be at 90 without you making it so!
NOTE: You need to take caution with your Style Aliases settings before you start these instructions, so that your chosen midi style doesn't get automatically replaced by a RT style alias.

Interesting, for this never fails on my end. You seem to have done everything absolutely correctly, thanks for chipping in There must be some variable to this one that I'm just not aware of, then. Which is part of why I'm asking other users to check this, to track down those common denominators, if you will. So here's hoping for more feedbacks.

Well, that's the one thing that definitely didn't seem to matter, so after getting this same result on several songs I didn't take notes of exactly which I used. I know it's from BBox original "Songs" folder, for those are all-midi songs which suited the test. But it really shouldn't matter which one in particular it is.

When using Midi and Supertracks I've encountered several problems like wrong plugin assignments and even crashes. It seems a bit random and difficult to reproduce, but obviously the current implementation has some serious flaws.
Anyway, I prefer Real tracks which are working well.

Edit: And for what it's worth, I rather agree with you on the many imperfections the SuperTracks feature still has. But it's still midi, so they are easier to manipulate...plus there are a few that don't have an exact RT counterpart, once you start to actually listen to them. The Stride sets, for instance, are vastly different and far more varied than the RT Stride are.

Yes, the flexibility of midi is nice in general but rather useless if the instrument assignments are unreliable. Just hoping the BB code gets some in-depth revision to eliminate the random glitches in that department.
