To save it to midi it needs a RealChart represented by an underscore under the instrument, if you look in the realtrack picker window there is a column for Charts, then you can drag it to MID on the DROP.
If you click the MID button > File on Disk will save realcharts to the midi file if it is checked in Options on the same dialog as File to Disk.
The RealCharts are just a Notation representation except the piano/keys there are the midi recorded at the same time on a Yamaha acoustic/midi piano.
