I wanted to find out if any of you are using a music streaming service that you would recommend? Also any to avoid and why?

I tried Spotify yesterday and it has almost everything that I would want. The one thing I really disliked about it though was I'm on Android and it doesn't seem like it's possible to rearrange song order in a playlist from your phone! You can on Apple based products or your computer though. So it's not that I couldn't do it it's just I can't do it from your Android phone. Kind of annoying if you ask me.

The main things I look for are...

Great audio quality

The ability to download to your phone for those times when you won't be in a great service area.

And, obviously, the ability to change the song order in your playlist from your phone.

Also, I prefer one that has a large music library.

And the final feature I really need is the ability to have a family plan of up to 6 people that would be cross-platform with IOS and Android.

I figure this is about the best place I can ask because we all love our music :-)

Thanks so much in advance!

I'm a big Spotify fan. Been using it for a couple of years. But it took me a while to figure out all the nuances of how to navigate the different options in the app. (The PC is easier to navigate.)

FWIW, I am able to rearrange the song playlist on both my iPhone and my PC, so I'm wondering if the option is there, but hidden. On my iPhone, when I open a playlist, there are three horizontal dots in the upper right corner of the screen. I click on the dots and a menu appears to edit, rename, etc. the playlist. If I click on edit, I can delete songs or rearrange them by clicking on the the horizontal lines o the right of each song and drag them up or down to rearrange.

You then click Done in the top right corner to save the changes.

No idea of this is the way it works on Android. Hope you can get it to work.

Yes, this support is also on Android devices. You have to move down the playlist, and then it will offer the menu in the upper right corner

I have a cell phone "Samsung ALPHA" and VIP account Spotify. It is the perfect app! I use to account for all the band members and share your playlists.

I have to say, as an artist with songs on these services, none pay the artist a fair rate.

Pandora is probably the best of the group at paying artists, so I subscribe to that. They also screen their catalog, so anything that gets on there has to be good quality.

Yes. That is what I'm looking to do. I'm able to do it on my wife's iPhone and my kids iPhones but there's no future on Android like this.

In researching that I found quite a few complaints that this feature isn't included on the Android version. In fact apparently it's been an issue for about 3 years for sure now.

Well thanks for the reply! I have to agree that Spotify is a very nice system all the way around.

Thanks for the reply! I am aware of this feature but it's not the one I'm talking about. This one simply allows you to click on a track and dragging her up or down on your list. It's extremely handy! At least it can be done on my laptop and then it does update on my phone.

Thanks again!

Thanks Matt! That's one of them I was actually considering just have to try it yet. But at your recommendation I will definitely do that :-)

Hi HTL

Pandora is more of an internet radio station than a streaming service but I believe they are bringing out a service where you can choose what you want to listen to. They may have already done so. But because it is so difficult to get your music on there their catalogue is not so big.

I use apple music and love it. Spotify is not available in South Africa so I can't compare.

FWI - There are lots of Internet radio stations out there that specialize in specific genres of music. Most are free with commercials but a few you can subscribe to and that eliminates those commercials.
