Or another idea is to be able to remove (not permanently of course) certain instruments from a BB style. Sometimes styles are really close but have things in them that I don't want and always have to mute them or turn them down.

The short answer is yes and yes.

You can switch out the instrument patches used in a style, save the new instrument patch line-up as a new style with a unique style name.

Also, when performing a style search you will find four styles with "BLANK" in their name. Blank styles have no instrument patches so you can import a blank instrument then again create a new style with the new instrument line-up.
