My wife is the lay leader of our local United Methodist Church (one of many here in Pensacola, FL) and I am the Director of Music Ministries/Choir Director. She has contributed a couple of times to the "Pulpit Fiction" podcast, which is aimed at pastors (although anyone is free to listen and learn). One of their segments is called "Voice In The Wilderness", which is a lay person's commentary on a lectionary scripture, and she has provided two commentaries.

Anyway, she suggested that I submit one of my and my writing partner (Chris Werle's) songs as their featured song for the week (as it fit so well with the lectionary reading) and they accepted it.
