Hello to all in the BIAB Community...

Regarding dragging my tracks out of BIAB and into a separate folder:

My typical modus operandi has been to record all my desired real tracks in BIAB and then transfer them into a stand-alone holding folder I've created (I do not use MIDI files in BIAB). I then raid this folder from within my DAW to import my BIAB music tracks. (This may not be the best nor fastest way to accomplish this task, but it's been working well for me (until now) and I'd like to figure a way to stick with it...)

In the past (i.e. before updating to BIAB 2017) I would typically just drag my master button down into the .wav file box (see fig. 1) and then - after a few minutes - all the song's tracks would be individually copied into my DAW holding folder as .wav tracks. (I like it this way because doing it once beats beats doing it seven times)...

I've been doing this successfully for quite a few years now. But since updating to BIAB 2017 last month, I have not been able to drag the tracks into my folder as individual .wav files. Using the same process now gets me one mixed .wav file of all my tracks.

Figuring something had been inadvertently checked or unchecked in the BIAB 2017 upgrade process, I went into Options/Preferences/DAW. (see fig 2). Yet everything seems to be set as I've always had it set.

I've tried the BIAB suggestion (highlighted) that I hold CTL and SHIFT down when dragging the Master button into the .wav box to drag tracks as individual files, but when I do that the program won't allow me to drag anything down into the .wav box. The little drag arrow icon doesn't appear.

Perhaps something has changed this process in BIAB 2017?

As the obvious often eludes me, I figured I'd put this out there for the fine folk of the BIAB forums to comment upon.

Thank you in advance!

Do you have the most recent release?

Opps I see you have 457. This has been working and broken over time. I was hoping now was a working time.

Thanks Dan for validating this issue for me. It's always good to know what the problem I have going on is actually a "thing". I tried to call tech support about this a few times, but I receive an abrupt recorded message stating "the mailbox is full and I should "hang up". (That's not the available, concerned and helpful PG Music approach that I've come to know and love over the last several years!!)

So, faced with no known fix for this issue, the worst case scenario is I go back to transferring my BIAB .wav files into my DAW holding folder one-at-a-time instead of all at once. That still beats trying to find top-flight musicians (not easy in my neck of the woods), arranging for the tracking sessions and writing paychecks - the way we had to do it back in the Stone Age!

I thought I made a post about this around Jan 3 or so, but I can not find it now (I more than likely wrote it up, previewed it, and moved on thinking I posted it....getting old sucks! LOL).

Anyhoo, I have ran into this in 2017 with every update, including the newest one....but mine is not a mix, it is always just the Bass part!

Mine also works fine one at a time, but that is a pain.....

Regarding dragging the Master button to copy my BIAB tracks into my DAW folder as individual .wav files in BIAB 2017...

I have finally stumbled across this method that seems to work.

Instead of dragging the Master button into the .wav box and having "Drag Master As Separate Tracks" checked in OPT/PREF/DAW, it seems that in BIAB 2017 one must drag the master button down into the small square in the middle...

Then it's a matter of checking your preferences (especially "Separate files for each track") and clicking OK.

So far this is working well for me!

Just tried this slight variation on the theme and seems to work like a charm. Who would have guessed?

1) Drag Master to little plus sign
2) Select - individual files. render to wav
3) When completed, drag the Wav button to Reaper and select- save as separate tracks.
4) Looks to be All good again.

Thanks much for the clarification.
