Joan, how hard would it be? Could be quite hard. Just opening a laptop to replace things they expect, like memory, can be difficult. Getting to the motherboard will likely be very hard. You may even find that the CPU is soldered into it, and not replaceable. And there is always the hazard of breaking the cable that connects to the screen. Having done so once, I wouldn't attempt it again.
