BIAB 2017 no longer calls up the default Sampletank DXi for Sampletank HI-Q sounds. With BIAB 2017 the default are SFZ HI-Q sounds which invoke/call up the, free and provided, Sforzando (a SFZ player).

Couple options here:

If you want to, or have to, use the Sampletank HI-Q sounds on each track that had them before you will have to insert Sampletank, either as VSTi or DXi (highly recommend using the VSTi over DXi - less issues), for each existing track that uses ST HI-Q instruments. Then save song (Save Special - w patches)

Or simply switch the HI-Q instrument(s) in your songs from Sampletank to the newer Sforzando - and again re-save songs.

I've listened to the ST HI-Q and SFZ HI-Q BIAB sounds, side by side, they are identical (e.g. the ST2 HI-Q: "Bass, Electric, 61 Classic Sampletank" calls up the same sound (except in Sampletank's .stw format) as the Sforzando: "Bass, Electric, 61 Classic - Sforzando" sound (but in SFZ format). There MIGHT be a slight volume delta (with the SFZ's being louder by a bit)

If you are getting bad or low quality sounding HI-Q sounds when you try to use Sforzndo HI-Q's it might be an install issue.

There was some initial thrashing when folks, inclduing me, updated to 2017 but choose to not install the supplied Sforzando during the BIAB install process, etc.

Probably just need some a reinstall to verify you installed Sforzando during the BIAB 2017 install - only takes a few minutes and doesn't hurt anything. Then there is the clean up to get rid of the old ST HI-q files from the DX Settings folder . There is a way to make BIAB NOT see the old ST versions when you ask to use a HI-Q instrument WITHOUT you having to do any file "sleuthing around" in the DX Settings folder and deleting - but I forget how.
