I just assumed this one would be so far down the list of improvements that it would not be possible!

So a BIG +1

I would love to see the software work more like popular music has been structured for the past 50 years using intro-verse-chorus-bridge-outro sort of designations. But to tell the truth, I am fine with the unfold option if I could just label the sections clearly!

I build my BIAB songs in linear form, so really there isn't a difference between vetse and chorus. It's just one pass.

notation is a little different, but as it only affects the visual interpretation I can call the sections whatever I chose.

Sometimes simplicity is easier.

I have always done the same. I have never understood the advantage of using repeats in BIAB so verse/chorus etc doesn't matter, am I missing something?

Tony, remember how BIAB started, to play charts in a fakebook of the style several decades ago. They were typically just standard AABA form jazz songs, and setting the repeats in one place in BIAB was all that was necessary.

It was messy.
I still used the same process - a linear song development, but I had a separate MGU for printing. It had the body of the song and the endings. I printed it and added repeat marks and the first, second ending markers by hand. Tedious, but it worked.

So, again, chorus and verse were immaterial.

And, a "freeze" section X. Or check boxes in a dialog to choose which sections get regenerated. Are you listening Dr. Gannon? -------- Leon.

This would be a GODSEND! Easily the best BIAB feature ever (after RealTracks of course!)

Having these amazing RealTracks is AWESOME but having to play spin the bottle for the entire track every time you want to regenerate is a SEVERE DOWNER to the otherwise awesomeness of RealTracks! It is soooo frustrating to have a track that is almost perfect except for one or two bars where BIAB does something weird. Then you click the regenerate button and lose all of the good sections.

This is a even b igger problem when you, inevitably add or subtract a few bars to your song. You can have 7 tracks exactly as you want them and then to add a single bar you have to regenerate everything!

And I understand that Realband improves this by letting you roll the dice over specific sections but 1) I don't want to have to use another program and 2) it is still a pain in RB to have to regenerate over and over until you get what you want.

A good solution would be to bring the same multiriff feature RB has into BIAB. A great feature would be to improve that so, at any bar I can preview all available riffs! Not just 7 picked at random but all available riffs. In this way I could quickly assemble my song using my own choices of RealTrack bits and pieces to get closer to what I want my song to be!

Any chance of this happening?

Leon, great idea, but really worthy of its own thread. Will you start a new one?

This feature has been REQUESTED over and over, but not implemented. I do like new RealTracks, but I personally, would forfeit the RealTracks/RealStyles next Dec. 2018 for this one feature. It is that important to me,----------Leon

OK, you guys have mixed wishes and this one of course gets my attention. Bringing a multiriff feature into BIAB is my top wish! So a BIG +1 for that.

And regarding the verse versus chorus, I am fine with how it is so no +1 for that.

Ok so I Think BIAB already made it work. They but in the little boxes next to the bars to let the users select a letter to help organize the structure of the song.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.
