Open Task Manager and make sure STOM isn't already running.
Right-click in your task bar and select Task Manager.

Then check the tab for running applications.

If it is already running before you called it to run, select it and End Task.
Be careful you select the correct thing before using killing it.

In hard use I've seen this program get stuck open from a previous session and need to be stopped so it can restart correctly.

It's been a long while, but I remember it happening.
This would be filed under very rare ..

You may not want to do this while still on this web page; you will likely see a 'STOM.EXE .. etc' entry, but that may be your browser pointing to this thread topic, depending on your OS and browser. If you kill that process you'll wonder why your browser closed and be mad at me and maybe think something malicious happened <grin>
It didn't; you probably just killed the app running your browser.
