Trying to figure out how to get around the issue about generate melody on a already done 64-bar chorprogression. , or generate part of song (melody and or chords) in 64-bar layout, without getting the result in double time.
As it is now Biab can generate a whole song with melody in 64-bar mood., but not when i write chorprogression first, and then trying to generating a melody idea, because the result will be in double time. The same goes when i try to generate chords, and or melody for part of a song, in the 64-bar mood.
In 32-bar layout on other hand, this work fine. So if i want to get an idea of a chordsprogression, and or melody for part of a 64-bar layout, my solution is to reduce it to 32-bar > generate ideas, > and then expand the idea to the 64-bar mood again, and work from there., that´s not that handy of course, but something anyway.
Thanks Noel, well i try with the language anyway :-) mostly promlems with the gramma. This time it seems to worked fine, as i undertand.
About the issue Generating Chords ans/or melody
Yes, i using the Melodist generator with the 64 bar options (similar to the ones you have highlighted in your image).
I examinated your tip about the autotemp thing a little bit today on a 64-bar layout, and notised that that it worked to generate a chordprogression, and then generate a melody to it, when the Autotempo is unchecked., but only one time. Second time i tryed, to the same chordprogression, the melody comes in double time, and do not fit at all of course., the same thing happened when tryed to generate a melody to a new chordprogression. So this part seems to work sometimes, and sometimes not. On other hand, when the Auto Tempo is unchecked, i can generate chords for part of a song, and seems to work fine. (Tryed a few times). On other hand, when i do the same with a melody, trying to generete a melody for part of a song, the result will be in double time, on a 64-bar layout.
When generating a solo works fine in 64-bar layout., everytime.
Now that you've told me a bit more about it, I'll have a play around over the next day or so and let you know how I go.
It's been a long time since I last played with the Melodist and when I was trying it out today to get a better understanding of your problem, I was impressed all over again. BIAB is an incredible piece of software!
My guess is that it´s a programming issue though... propably a hard task,... - so the solution so far is; to uncheck the "Auto Tempo - combined with the Reduce to 32-bar/Expand to 64-bar procedure, as i told about before, and work from there.
