Yep... the count-in is there automatically.

By setting the start bar to -1, it means that when the intro starts, Reaper will read bar 1 at exactly the same musical location that BIAB reads bar 1 (provided the tempo is identical in both Reaper and BIAB). I find that by having bar numbers synchronised in Reaper and BIAB, it makes it easier to isolate sections when I want to copy and paste (in Reaper).

  • For example, if I find a problem in bar 28 in Reaper and I want to copy a bar to paste over it, I look at bar 28 in BIAB and find out what chord it is. I then look at all the bars in BIAB that have the same chord and same part-marker. Then I audition those bars in Reaper and see if I can find suitable copy-and-paste material.
