Mac, you were correct; problem solved. At Andrew's suggestion I tried using WMP by itself and found that wave files would play normally when just WMP was open, but when Realband was also open they would not. In the RB Audio Settings, on the Drivers page, there was a check mark on "ASIO Always On". I unchecked it, and that solved the problem. Thanks for your help!
