One of the things that I miss about the old style picker is that in the past I could search any general style; country, blues, reggae, etc. and the style picker would show me all the styles in that category regardless of tempo, feel, etc. Unless I'm missing something, I not able to do that now. I have to put in style parameters such as tempo, feel etc. that seem to limit the number of styles in that category. If I'm searching for a reggae style for example, I get about 4 or 5 choices that sound good and after that the choices sound very little like reggae. I seem to have more success with the number of choices when I search for Midi styles only.
Again, am I missing a way of seeing every blues styles, country style, etc. regardless of tempo, feel, etc?
It would be helpful to me if all the styles in the Style Picker were pre-grouped into style categories as the default setting. That is, all Bossas, for example, in one place, without having to filter it, or go looking throughout the entire list. The real instruments are categorized by name, which makes it easy to go straight to the pianos, as an example. Could not the styles be done in a similar fashion?
You can select any number of filters if you wish, then then still sort the results by any column. Applying more filters can narrow down the available results. Does that work for you?

I'll see if I can get what what I want by working with the "Genre" column. Specifically I really don't want to narrow my searches but widen them. In other words rather than try to narrow down a style for a specific song, I want to see everything in that specific style and then come up with a song that fits a style I like. Again this was easier in the old style picker. With the new style picker if I'm looking for let's say a reggae style, after about the first 3 or 4 styles I get styles that really don't sound much like reggae at all (the genre column might read "country, rock, reggae).
I also find the style picker searches sometimes kind of limited. Resetting and changing the filters often get me better results, but still there appear a lot of styles that IMO seem to have nothing to do with what i am looking for. This is probably due to searching involving the descriptions, and there you'll find too many eroneous (IMO) remarks leading to the search results. -F
