Attempting to use Jukebox to play back my set list. Jukebox will only play the files in alphabetical order, not the order I wish to perform the music. Can amyone help?

I haven't ever used it but you might try renaming the songs with numbers in the desired sequence as the first characters. Remember to use leading zeros for proper sorting.

I put this little video together of how I use (manage) Jukebox in 2017. It works fine for a show. Sorry the volume is a bit low and I forgot to check one of the check box buttons at one point.

I enjoyed your video. It's nice to see it used in an actual live environment.

Thanks for posting.

Thanks for posting the video.

I have only used the jukebox a couple of times live but I find that rather than use the xx seconds delay feature it is much more flexible to use no delay but select the option "pause until midi or key received" under preferences. The next song then loads instantly (when frozen) and the song starts with no delay as soon as I touch my keyboard, or you can use a footswitch programmed with spacebar. This means that I have complete manual control over the length of the delay and can vary the length of my introduction. I also never use lead-in bars, it is more impressive to start the song instantly either as I finish talking or immediately after the last one finishes depending on the effect I want. I sometimes like to announce a medley of similar songs and have then merge almost seamlessly from one to the other. People seem to like the rapid change in style and tempo between songs.

If you have ever seen my other comments and wishlist posts about the Jukebox you will know that my big problem with it is that if ever you deliberately or inadvertently stop Jukebox there is no way to restart it from the same place in the sequence of songs. This makes me appear very amateurish during a live performance. The RealBand version is different and allows you to restart where you left off. Do you have a way round this problem?

Thanks for those suggestions. Both very useful. I'll try them. I've had no luck finding a USB foot pedal in the Hong Kong markets but a keyboard key would probably be fine. I just got into the habit of having lead ins, but as I normally put in a 4 or 8 bar intro they are probably redundant now. As far as starting from the same place, I go into jukebox from open special/open favourite Songs, highlight the song I want and click on the jukebox button. I've a feeling, that's not what you mean as I'm sure you've tried that. I demo'ed it in the video at 4:50. I don't know any other way.

Your description of using Open Special etc seems to be your way of creating the list of songs that you can then point Jukebox to. I simply use Windows file manager/explorer to do the same thing. I then select the directory using "Change Directory" in Jukebox. Using either method, once Jukebox is running there really needs to be a way to stop and restart the sequence at any point in the list of songs. Currently you have to re-start at the beginning which is a disaster during a performance. Perhaps it has never happened to you. It's ironic that the RealBand Jukebox which is a DAW, not a performance tool, has a way round this problem.

I used my keyboard to start songs with a midi signal long before I added a foot pedal but it's convenient to have both.

Try highlighting a particular song in your list and hitting jukebox button. (Video 5:50 on) It should play that song. It does on mine and then continue on. You would either replay your current song or play the next one. I often do it when live and I've had to stop for some reason.

Your right, this is a workaround that forces Jukebox to start or restart at the song you want. However it's a bit too tortuous for me to use in a live performance unless I can work out a way of automating it with the Conductor and/or foot switches. I cringe every time I see a performer peering into a computer screen and clicking a mouse while the audience waits. How much better if we had the RealBand Jukebox that has it's own button "Restart From Currently Highlighted Song" - maybe one day!

I'm finding the Options/Preferences/Pause Play until midi/key received option works really nicely with the Jukebox. It loads each song in the correct order, but pauses just before play which allows you to determine how much time you want to talk before playing the song straight after hitting a key on the keyboard or midi footswitch (I assume).
