Some of you know and listen to Pandora - the online music genome project that allows users to choose an artist - then Pandora finds similar artists and plays them for you, asking if you agree with their selections. Sort of a wikipedia of music genre/artists.

Well, they have been offering up .mp3 podcasts of fundamentals of recording practices and songwriting techniques, complete with live audio examples.

Folks like Mac will yawn at some of the simplicity of the tips provided, but I will say that I've learned a great deal about rhythms and harmony vocal writing/recording techniques that I will be using in future recordings.

I download them, burn them to an mp3 cdrw and then listen to them in my car's CD player on my way back and forth to work. Cool thing about that car CD player is that it plays data cds with mp3 files on it.
