Dear "Sir" Shigeki Adachi... smile

I have fallen so "head-over-heels" in love with your luxuriously dreamy and romantic song, "Coffee Talk", that I literally haven't been able to get it out of my mind, or my heart. Ever since I first listened to it, I've been walking around in a glorious haze of golden, childhood nostalgia. It has also inspired me to compose lyrics for it.

The singer I had in mind as I was writing is Jack Jones, whose warm and aching version of the song, "Dear Heart", by Henry Mancini, Ray Evans, and Jay Livingston, for the 1965 film of the same name, filled my innocent, little-boy heart with powerful and perplexing feelings that I was too young to understand, but also very nearly brought me to tears, as it was such a sweet and tender song to hear.

The style of the lyric is admittedly sentimental and old-fashioned, but, then again, so is your lovely music, and that's a good thing, right?!

Verse 1

The morning sunlight clears the mist
And like the memory of a kiss
The dream I had of you persists
Bright as the bracelet on your wrist

Verse 2

I lie alone upon our bed
The scent of you around my head
And at the door I hear you knock-ing
You serve coffee, and we talk…

Chorus

And, oh, the thoughts, and feelings
You share, are so appealing
Time flies by, and soon I’ll have to go
But not before I say I love you so!

Verse 3
Forgive me, but I must complain
A day away from you brings pain
Beyond my desk the windowpane
Is blurred by tears of gentle rain

Verse 4

The hours pass so slowly, dear
That I can’t wait to have you near
When I come home, the door’s unlock-ing
Then we sip coffee, while we talk…

Inspirationally,

LOREN (a.k.a. "bluage")

Hello, LOREN

Thank you so much for your composing lyrics for my song.
I am very glad "Coffee Talk" is now a vocal tune. And your lyrics are so fitted to it.
I wrote this tune in the same key as the male vocal's.
I entirely agree with your choice of the vocalist. I also like Jack Jones.
I would like to record the vocal, but there are no vocalists around me that can sing English songs.
So, I place the music sheet and the Karaoke(WAV and mp3) of this song at the following link.

https://www.dropbox.com/sh/aow28hs12kr8oew/AAD8htfXegkotGzXbs3A6dGpa?dl=0

Please feel free to use them if there is an idea for the singer. I will also try to find a vocalist.
Thank you again, LOREN.
Best regards.

Hello, there, Shigeki...

I'm very happy that you felt the lyrics fit your gorgeous song so well! The melody was "crying out" for lyrics.

You mentioned that there are no vocalists around you that can sing songs with lyrics composed in English.

How well would the lyrics work if they were translated to the Japanese language?

Sincerely,

LOREN

Very nice, Shigeki! Excellent arrangement. You have done a masterful job with the instrumentation. I agree with all of the accolades lavished on this one!

Hello, LOREN

Thank you so much for your advise.
But maybe the translation to Japanese will be another difficulty to find a lyricist.
And as you have kindly written the English version for me, I will somehow search for a vocalist who can sing in English.

Best regards.

Dear Shigeki...

While you and I are searching for a truly fine vocalist, I recorded a vocal track just so the both of us could listen to your song along with the lyrics.

Where should I send the *.wav file to?

Thank you,

LOREN (a.k.a. "bluage")
