Indeed. Not all interfaces are created equal. We had issues like this all the time in the Sonar help forums. People would go out and buy their interfaces based on looks and price rather than audio specifications. Then they would come to us and complain that they couldn't get things to work smoothly. We knew as soon as they told us the interface/card brand and model.

Glad you found this out early and acted on the advice given. Also good to hear that Focusrite, apparently, has bumped up their headphone output levels a bit.
