A guy came by my house today and said his name was Jimmy Waits and that he was Tom Waits' cousin. I did not believe him but I let him sing my new song.

Sunday Morning Blues
by David Snyder

V1

I’ve walked so many miles
In other people’s shoes
It’s no wonder that I’ve got
The Sunday morning blues
The preacher doesn’t understand
How much we’ve paid our dues
I wish that I could get
Just a little more good news
I wish that I could get
Just a little more good news
But all that I am singing
Is the Sunday morning Blues

CH:

Sunday morning blues
Spreading round my town
What was supposed to bring me up
Only brings me down
Hey Mister Preacher man
Can’t you see my busted shoes?
Can’t you tell that I’ve got
The Sunday morning blues

V2

Well I know that I’m a sinner
But I know I ain’t no liar
And I know that I ain’t bound for
No holy hell or fire
Oh I wish that I could get
Just a little more good news
But all that I am singing
Is the Sunday morning Blues

CH:

Sunday morning blues
Spreading round my town
What was supposed to bring me up
Only brings me down
Hey Mister Preacher
Can’t you see my busted shoes?
Can’t you tell I’ve got
The Sunday morning blues

OUTSTANDING.

Pure Entertainment.

The selected style was perfect. Excellent mix.

"Jimmy's" vocal is astounding! Made MY throat hurt.
(Can't believe "he" kept that up for the whole song!)

Excellent write. Captured the "Looking For The Heart Of Saturday Night" era PERFECTLY (Tom at his best imo).

You impress me more and more and more...

(there must be an tray of empty Heinekens on the piano)

David, I enjoyed my listen. It made me think of a Shetland pony - a little horse. Ouch! I hope your regular voice returned after the effort you put in to this one. You never know where you'll take us. Good job, Tom

Yeah I know man. He was claiming multiple identities.

Who would do such a thing?

My friend Tater Totts is very confused.

Thanks Buford,

Yeah I thought it was strange that Floyd mentioned the 12 pack of Heinekens but completely forgot to mention the Fifth of Cutty Sark and the three packs of unfiltered Lucky Strikes.

He must not have spent a lot of time in a blues studio, I guess. Maybe it's different in country. Little Jimmy told me he doesn't go around beer. He said it takes too long.

What a cool Tom Waits impersonation?
This sure shows your talents in different ways.
Cool, and definitely different.
