I run a Toslink cable from my PC to my home theater receiver for sound. I shut the system down two nights ago and it was working fine. I booted it up the next morning and no sound. I tested the amp by switching it to the video input and using the separate Toslink from my cable companies set top box for the TV. The sound is there so the receiver is good.

I looked at the back of the PC, pulled out the Toslink cable and I don't see the red light. I then tested the headphone out and that works so the Realtec chip seems ok. Any ideas about this or do I need a new mobo?

This is the PC in my sig:
