I'm going through some of the tutorials, learning how to use RB, and so far, pretty good progress. But I've bumped into a little problem: If I type in my chords, then generate a style with RealTracks, and then make some individual instrument changes (swap out an electric guitar RealTrack for an acoustic one, for example), everything plays fine. But then, if I ever want to edit some chords [after having made the instrument changes], if I then press Play, the band doesn't automatically regenerate and play the new chords (like BIAB does). There must be another step. Then I thought, "Oh, I must need to click on Generate [Generate BB (All BB Tracks)]- but that just resets all the instruments to the original ones that loaded with the style. So I can't seem to get it to regenerate the new chords without also reverting the instruments back. Any insights? Thanks.

The only way to prevent this is to first use Tracks---> make all BB tracks regular tracks and then hit generate---> all

Okay, I went ahead and did that, and, provided I did it in that order (chord change first, then Tracks> Make all..., then Generate all), I did achieve the chord change. Problem is, there were a couple of RealTracks which didn't obey either the chord change OR even the "Make all BB tracks regular tracks" command - namely, two guitar tracks whose font color didn't change to green like all the other tracks did when I clicked that command - they instead turned black. And those are the same two tracks that subsequently failed to obey the chord change. Any reason why a couple of tracks like that would somehow be excluded from a "Make ALL tracks..." command? Thanks.

...Just tried generating a RT onto one of the black-font, uncooperative guitar tracks, and as soon as it generated, it became green like the others, but then that means I sacrificed the old guitar track (which I liked, except it wasn't the right chords) in order to turn it green...

One thing I notice is that these "problem" tracks that go from blue to black during the "Tracks>Make all" operation (and thereafter fail to obey chord edits) are listed as things like "RealGuitar 362: Guitar, Electric...", whereas when I go in and force a generation of another RT onto a black-font one, it then has a name like "RT365, Guitar, Acoustic..." after it turns green. So, abbreviated. Maybe not important but I thought I'd mention it.

That said, there were other RT's listed as "RealBass..", etc., just like the "problem" tracks, but which converted to green "regular" tracks just fine, and obeyed the chord changes. Somehow, RB is seeing certain RT's as "user" data or something, and exempting them from "Tracks>Make all". Seems to me...

Black tracks won't regenerate. Before 2009.5 we didn't have green tracks that was a feature that came with 2009.5. Most of my songs are done with previous version so it's kind of a mish mash.
I have also seen some tracks generated in the new version that didn't turn green also. Rare but it happens. Just right click and keep regenerating that track until you like it.
