That really is on my list of options.
Being in the security biz, I work a lot with monitors of all sorts, and one time, I had a customer who needed a monitor TODAY....RIGHT NOW. The best option was a visit to Walmart to see what they had. I picked up a small HDTV that had the proper inputs.
Picture quality made the old monitor look like it was black and white 50's TV. The problem for security purposes is that TV's are not designed to run 24/7 like a security monitor is built to do.
But for home and studio, yes... I've been checking the local swap/sell boards on FaceBook for used TV's that will work.
